Other Lawsuits

eBay has been sued many, many times. And it is likely that as long as they continue to conduct themselves the way they do, this trend will likely continue and probably grow. This page will track some of the noteworthy litigation and provide you with access to information that would ordinarily be accessible to the public by driving to the Santa Clara County Courthouse.

You can access the records of The Santa Clara Superior Court online by clicking here and searching by any of the criteria allowed. Usually, the best search to perform is a party search and put in “eBay” as the party. The online docket system does not show you the actual documents filed an thus it is relatively useless for figuring out what is going on at the moment.

Accessing federal court filings can be done through PACER (Public Access to Court Electronic Records), but this costs $0.08 a page. I do have a PACER account and use it quite frequently. Most of the records you see for federal cases have been obtained from PACER.

Later on, I plan to travel to San Jose and visit the courthouse for the purpose of personally examining court record and making copies of noteworthy or interesting case files. I will then scan that information in and post it here for the enjoyment of all. While I am sure eBay would much rather these cases be settled quietly as they have been doing for a while, I am determined to ensure that all the dirty laundry gets aired.

eBay can spin its legal troubles all it likes. Court documents don’t lie, and by the end of the year this page will make more actual court documents pertaining to eBay freely available to anyone who cares to examine them than any other website in existence.
